im guessing its a cadillac STS AWD because u said high customer service standards
apart from lexus, cadillac has one of the best service in the industry
if not then im guessing Acura RL
but then i realize your requirements do not say anything about it must being a sedan
so could it be an SUV?

to me it screams Audi A6.
However, the M35/45x might be worth looking into if you are unimpressed with the A6.

Heh his CL was being replaced so it very well could be a coupe.
I don't really know there doesn't seem to be enough information for me to pick.

I got a couple of guesses:
Audi Avant or All-Road wagon with Quattro and Sport Package?
Subaru Turbo Outback XT Limited?
Volvo XC70 with Sport Package?
I figure if you are saving up for an LS600H, which costs a fortune, you couldn't have splurged a huge amount much on this one.

Fascinating responses! You're all hitting close to (or, in some cases) on the mark!
Let me help narrow things down by listing the cars that made the "medium" of possibilities (these were the ones I bothered to take the time to investigate online or at local dealerships):
- Acura RL, TL-S, RDX, MDX
- Audi Q7 (no lesser sedan would do from them since I was so seriously considering the S8)
- Lexus RX400h, IS250AWD
- Mazda CX-7
- Porsche Cayenne Turbo
- Saab 9-2X (until I found out it was discontinued), 9-7X
- Scion xB, xD
- Subaru (but all their models kind of blend together)
- Volvo XC70, XC90, V70
Also, we picked up the vehicle tonight after having some dealer-installed accessories installed. It looks great, but will be much more presentable after I detail it on Saturday. That's when I'll post pics and reveal its identity!
