Hey guys, im planning on selling the car to get out of the modding game (well... serious modding game) and save some money for school.
Basically im looking for something thats fun, comfortable and RELIABLE. Something that I wont have to mod past BPU level to get some ***** out of.
I was pretty set on getting an IS300 or GS300, but I think those may be too boring for me, and I would end up doing an NA-T / V160. I dont want to leave the Toyota world, since I know when it comes to reliablity, they are solid. But I stumbled across the AWD 2.7 6 Speed Twin Turbo Audi A6. Anyone have any experiences with the A6/A4/S4 ?
I know the S4 is the 'M3' series of the Audi's with its upgraded suspension and the A4 has the 2.0T AWD model. Anyone have any insight on reliablity / maintenance / mod cost / performance on these things?

I am currently driving my second Audi and neither ever went back to the dealer for anything other than routine service. However, both were purchased new and perfectly maintained according to the owner's manual recs..
If money is an issue do not, I repeat Xinfinity, even consider buying a used German car unless it is factory certified. Neurosurgeons charge lower rates than BMW, Audi, and Merc. dealers.

the RS4 is the M3 series of Audi, the S4 is more of a 335 competitor, and a nice one at that. Essentially, if you take care of them they'll take care of you. My friend had a 1.8T for 4 years and it was good to him mechanically, although he had a few electronical problems. It didn't stop him from getting a new 2.0T when his lease was up.
Personally, I like Audis

They're fun cars, but reliability is not a strong suit. A friend of mine is a big time VWAG fan, and considered getting an A6 2.7T, until he found out that the turbos, in general, have to be replaced every 100k. They run about $2k/apiece (x2 remember) for parts, then figure another couple grand to install them.
If it's a relatively high-mileage car, that's definitely something you have to consider.

Take this for what you will but I am having a very difficult time talking myself into an A8. Audis are generally priced somewhere between Lexus and BMW/MB. Interiors are first rate. Reliability is about on a par with bimmer, better than MB worse than Lexus. The one time in the past I tried buying an Audi, I got the runaround for so long (months) from the Audi dealer about where the car was, I cancelled the order and bought my first BMW. I hope Audi dealerships have gotten a bit more customer friendly.

I personally like Audi's over other German automakers. Provides great styling, AWD, World class V8 (RS4) and its sporty.
I was thinking of taking a S4 before I got the IS350. Reason why I took the IS? One was that I come from a Toyota family (LS, RX, LX, LandCruiser, Tundra) and I didnt want to break off from it. Another was the interior. Now I know I like Audi, I just never had time to get use to the rather plain dash (I couldnt figure out which was the A/C or radio).
Right now the RS4 is the M3 competitor. Ive seen some modified S4s', but it seemed to cost ALOT for just a few pieces of aftermarket stuff.
I'd still take one, when im older.
