There you have it. New Matrix, Corolla, and Sequoia all debuting soon.
As for the Tundra "dually" set to be shown at SEMA, word is that development is already finished on the HD Tundra and that we shall see a production version soon.
BIG SKY, MT Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. will take the wraps off its new 09 Corolla and Matrix compact cars at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Marketers Assn. show in Las Vegas next month, company officials say here.
The 4-door Corolla sedan and 5-door Matrix hatchback were last new when they debuted in 2001, with the latter a twin of General Motors Corp.s Pontiac Vibe, also new for 09.
Toyota, which this year is the official OEM sponsor of the annual SEMA show, also will display a tricked-out, heavy-duty dually version of its Tundra fullsize pickup.
However, Brian Smith, Toyota division corporate marketing manager-trucks and SUVs, tells Wards it will not be a concept vehicle, as has been reported, but merely a show car put together by tuners and powered by a diesel engine from Toyota-subsidiary Hino Motors Mfg. U.S.A. Inc.
Smith says, as with Nissan North America Inc., Toyota has put a hold on a heavy-duty version of its fullsize pickup due to inhospitable market conditions.
Meanwhile, Toyota announces at its 08 Land Cruiser SUV media preview here its all-new 08 Sequoia fullsize SUV will be unveiled at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in mid-November. The Land Cruiser and Sequoia both share the Tundras 5.7L V-8 engine.

Seeing as SEMA will be the unveiling, I think they will pop up at all other autoshows after which include LA, Detroit, and Chicago.
Toyota did do a ton of market research before they started work on the 2nd gen Tundra. My guess is that the research included information about demand for a heavy duty pickup.
I think this "dually" Tundra will be shown as a hint that a production model is coming, and also to see people's reaction. I can already guess reaction would be positive.

That front end looks pretty sinister to me. Almost like an evolution of the current Matrix crossed with influence from the new Camry. I cross checked this image with the Toyota Blade and Mark X Zio just for the heck of it, and none of the lines match up so I guess we are getting something completely different.

Wow, that's a creative teaser.
From the pic, I see a seriously aggressive looking bumper, some serious character lines on the hood and continuing along the side of the car. I also see some muscular styling around wheel wells and it looks like a possible spoiler in the rear of the car.
Insider reports have all said this car is radically styled compared to the current Matrix. Insiders who have seen the new Corolla and the new Matrix all say the Matrix looks radical next to the new Corolla.
