It looks like Nissan will be honoring the 50 year old GT-R nameplate with this offering, unlike the successors of any other Japanese supercar (read NSX, Supra, RX-7).

I think it will be a performance bargain and will sell out shortly after it's release.

One detail we were able to make out is the set of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for the transmission. As we reported previously, the 2009 Skyline won't get a manual gearbox. Whether that means we'll be stuck with a traditional automatic or a newly developed dual clutch setup similar to Volkswagen's DSG setup is still unclear.

NO MANUAL!?!????!?!

Im disappointed... It didnt shoot a fireball. lol Those wheels look better now then in the previous gas station pic. As for this car not coming with a manual transmission, that would be hard to believe but I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that.

As long as it's a DSG I'm fine with no manual. Good sport automatics shift faster than humans anyway, if you really wanna get all hardcore about track use.

haha, Manual is overrated anyway. I prefer high tech auto box over manual.

umm might have to rethink about my deposit on IS-F.

it just looks too chunky compared to all the other cars it is going against, even a viper looks slim compare to this porker.

itll almost certaintly have a manual option. even the new g35 sedan does.
they probably picked a prototype with an auto tranny to test on the streets. it makes sense..
