Didn't expect this car to weigh in around 3500lbs. That's basically IS350 territory.

We'll see if this new aluminum block will hold up to the legendary power that the 4g63 was able to crank out

Launch revs are limited to 5500 RPM to preserve the drivetrain.
As if drop-clutching at 5500 and smoking all four tires, the tranny, the differentials, U-joints/CV joints, and the clutch itself actually HELPS the drivetrain.

No wonder these magazines have trouble with their test cars.

Past Evo's have a secondary stationary rev limiter (ie 2-step), that if you master can yield quite quick times, and won't be as harsh on the drivetrain as you may think.

HOwever, noobie drivers were prone to 1) frying the clutch, 2) suspension hopping the front end, and / or 3) bogging off the line so it was restricted.

Having had a 500hp Evo IX, I'm quite disappointed that Mitsu took the visceral nature of the Evo out by the sounds of the review, but I'll reserve judgement until I can test drive one.

Evo ands STI, IMO is best performance for dollar.
But will I have one? Only I have enough money to buy one for track use only...
