Pole Position
What specs are these? I expect the 135i to be 200 to 250 pounds lighter. But that's purely speculation based on the fact that most of the reason BMW is even making this car is for their heritage of building small light high performance daily drivable cars.
So despite whatever curb weights may be published, I'd be shocked if, on the scales, the 135i wasn't at least 200 pounds lighter than a comparably equipped 335i.

It's not speculation, its fromt he brochure distributed by BMW:

Barely lighter, so in other words, whatever times 335i is getting, subtract .1 sec from that essentially.

Internet legend, nicely said SICK .
I personally have more interest in the Mugen Si than this , but honestly I think this car will not be that successful. I predict average to below average sales, but I agree it will become an internet legend and the hype will be bigger than the actual product.

This car seems risky in North America.
I know it will be a performance screamer but it seems to me most people have a problem spending towards 30k for a tiny car, no matter whose badge is on it or how well it performs. In America a car can be only so small before it's no longer a luxury car.

'Weight is 3,332 lbs, or 239 lbs less than the 335i Coupe'

I think it will be a moderate success. Not a complete failure, but not a blockbuster either.
Since it's a brand new model in the States, by definition all of its sales will be conquest sales. I'm not sure what it'll take sales away from. There's really nothing like it at this price point. I can see it cannibalizing some 3 series sales.

I think the performance aspect of the car is the only thing appealing.
The rear looks boring, and the front looks awkward; its front almost looks as if its "surpriced". Almost like a boy-ish look.
I'm sure it'll sell very well. But if someone can cash out another 12k, the 335i is such a better option & better looking car.

As for the post...I think the car looks descent...and for someone like me...College Student..has to pay lotta tuition..who also wants a nice performing car..this would be a great choice...
I think this will be a hit in the US...obviously not amongst old timers..but the younger people...
Teenagers...and the first car type of people, and the ones hu want a bimma but cant afford one!
