I've heard the best way to circumvent this is by buying a modded out of state car. CA flags it as such and charges a one time gross polluters fee. But that's just heresy. I don't know anyone that has personally gone through this route (I almost did trying to get a 98' Supra TT).

Do you have more info on the upcoming Turbo Fb (specs, links, etc.)?

I like the BRZ's fogs more than the GT86's. That huge piece of silver plastic on the dash.....

Subaru BRZ Super GT Race Car
Built to compete in Japan’s Super GT series, in which cars often have little to do with their production versions, the car will compete in the GT300 class replacing the current STI Legacy race car.

As the name suggests, the class horsepower rating sits right around the 300 mark, a 50 percent increase over the production BRZ 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine.

if price, color, and options are equal between scion and subaru, i'd choose subaru because the lack of that ugly 86 badge. i hope they don't use that for US spec cars. who would want a "BS" car.

Sadly, there is no info yet. Subaru is VERY good at being tight lipped about their projects.

The only thing we know for sure is they are indeed working on a next-gen turbo motor. Everything else is pure speculation.

First thing I would do is tint the taillights red and drop it! Oh, and tint the fogs yellow.
