it is same interior... you are probably thinking digital AC controls, but they are only in Premium, which is more expensive... as is other stuff in Premium model like smart entry and alcantra seats.

but it is $3.2k extra.

otherwise, i preffer FR-S carbon look plastic vs BRZ's silver one.

it is all a good deal... you pay $1.2k extra for nav and xenon and then $2k for alcantra, digital air, heated mirrors, smart entry and rear deck spoiler. so a little bit for everyone.

so the actual price difference is $1315 plus you get floormats and 2 year maintenance for free with Scion... so $1700 or so?

Any way you look at it they are both great cars at a great price. I personally like the Subaru version better over all but I think I would prefer to have the option of servicing my car with Toyota rather than Subaru . They most likely have a lot more dealerships and service options

I wonder how the actual purchase prices will look after a couple months. You can negotiate with Subaru, Scion prices are fixed. The real world price gap might be even smaller

Subaru will have so little BRZ's to sell (2x-3x less than Scion) that they wont be discounted for sure. Also Scion can have lower prices, they simply have to be advertised.

Keep in mind Toyota and Subaru worked on this pricing together, to have the cars positioned on the market worldwide... they wont compete on price.

Yep. Subaru is only exporting 500 a month to the US, and so their dealers are going to do the same thing they did when the WRX came out in 2001, which is add $2-3k in dealer markups to the sticker price.

Actually, real world price gap may be larger when Subaru dealers add a mark up to the msrp of the more limited numbers of BRZ's
