Cool HUGE gallery of Scion FR-S pics, videos, press conference, live pix, etc.

Huge gallery (over 100+ pics/videos)

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1163

Wish they woulda badged the Scion FR-S as a Toyota, but this thing is pretty nice looking. And sounds like its performance should be decent too. Guess ft86club has to change its name now

My question is - will the car be called "Toyota FR-S" in the rest of the world then?

as long as there isn't a bigass scion LED logo in the rear, it should be an easy badge swap.

if i were to buy this, that would be the first mod I'd do. remove the scion emblem.

The major point of the drivetrain in this car is to keep the weight low... A V6 sits up considerably higher than a horizontally opposed motor.

Here is your answer:

Throw Toyota's direct injection onto Subaru's H6 and it will be a baby Porsche

Although its probably going to end up getting a turbo boxer 4, probably in the Subaru variant.

Hahah it sucks that the only options for a light compact sports car with HP figures worth a damn is the 370z or a Porsche.

370z is over $30k, and the Porsche is well... expensive as heck.

This car is being aimed at near $20,000 and a curb weight of around 2500lbs, so 200hp would be VERY good for that price range and weight.

Is the weight really 2500? I thought I heard 2800.

No matter, and yeah that was the point I was trying to get at. That there are only so many choices to choose from for a light compact sports car, it is great that there are more options like this coming out.

Still, I would love that flat 6 in there, price it at $24,000 and give me some alcantara/suede interior and I'm done. I'll buy that car right now.

In other words, I want a Porsche without the price of a Porsche.

so all you need is lightweight RWD sports car with 300hp V6 wrapped in alcantra interior for 24k.

right.

base tC with AT is 20k.

This really is the sexist thing to come out of Toyota styling centres in a long time. I hope the production car looks as good.
