Although the "not enough power" complaints still exist, but those are mostly from the muscle car/drag strip guys.
i wonder what kind of power they can get out of 2.0l that gets 148hp in base trim... D4-S on exactly the same engine wont do that much good, i doubt beyond 165-170, so they will have to do more.
I also wonder if it will have Eco/Normal/Power modes - i would like that a lot. Drive-By-Wire works great if you use it! Even in my GS, there was huge difference in feel between PWR mode ON and OFF. It felt like a rocket with it on. Which they will never be able to do by default due to emissions and mpg in govt testing.

Toyota says the motor has 200hp. It should be possible with the new 2.0, given it has variable timing all around plus the direction injection, and probably higher compression (stock compression on the FB20 appears to be around 10.5).
There was a Japanese spec 2.0 EJ motor on some legacies that got 190hp, and there have been a few folks who have beefed up the EJ25 to around 220hp with the SOHC heads. I think 200hp normally aspirated is quite doable.

I don't think it really needs that personally. The S2000 for example, if you drive it gingerly, gets rather good mileage. Same goes for the Miata, Type-R, etc.
