it makes maserati look ugly too.

this would be a nice experiment for toyota.
sheet metal is cheap; no need to change the exterior.
the car will sell on looks alone.
put in a strong transmission that can handle an aftermarket turbo

stamping is not :-)...

but my hope when Toyoda cancelled F1 program was that he realized that 500m/year is better spent on subsidizing/marketing cost of sports cars to us, as they are usually not profitable due to low volumes.

Never thought I'd say this about a Scion, but this is so AMAZINGLY BADASS! Proportions are spot on and the rear taillights/diffuser is simply awesome. Please build this, Toyota! And thank you for designing something different.

This thing looks great! I'd buy one if it looked exactly like this.

they got rid of the porky roundedness of the sides and beefed up the rear fenders.
they also seemed to have lowered the height by 1 inch, as the windshield is more raked

the ft86ii just looks limp.

whoever fixed up the ft86ii deserves a raise.

Is this being released next year, or has there been no official announcements yet?

Noticed which car ALL of the major online car publications are using as the poster car of their NY Auto Show coverages?

Car and Driver:
http://www.caranddriver.com

Road and Track:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/auto-sho...york-auto-show

InsideLine:
http://www.insideline.com/

Motor Trend: (OK they used the Malibu in their cover photo but the FR-S is the first car featured in their NYIAS coverage page)
http://www.motortrend.com/auto_shows...011/index.html

Coincidence? I think not.

Wow, even traditionally anti-Toyota publications are doing a lot of press on this car. Way to go Toyota, haters can't even hate this .

Also it definitely seems like Five Axis had some involvement in this concept. I can see how the production car could likely be toned down, but for Toyota's sake I hope they keep it as close as possible to this concept.
