Default The Lexus Covenant

The Lexus Covenant

Lexus will enter the most competitive,
prestigious automobile race in the world.
Over 50 years of Toyota automotive experience
has culminated in the creation of Lexus cars.
They will be the finest cars ever built.

Lexus will win the race because
Lexus will do it right from the start.Lexus will have the finest
dealer network in the industry.

Lexus will treat each customer
as we would a guest in our home.

If you think you can't, you won't...
If you think you can, you will!
We can, we will.
Lexus has revolutionized the luxury motoring experience through its passionate commitment to the finest products and the most satisfying automobile ownership experience. We vow to value the customer as an important individual; to do things right the first time; and to always exceed expectations. We brought together these principles in the Lexus Covenant, which inspires our dealers and associates to treat customers as they would treat guests and to go to any lengths to serve them better.
The Lexus Covenant is the basis for every decision we make, from cars that are designed with the driver in mind to dealers that make customer satisfaction their most important goal. This commitment to excellence not only makes a Lexus more enjoyable to drive, but also a joy to own.

I just read this and it made me sick. "...do it right from the start," yikes! "treat each customer as we would a guest in our home," double yikes!

We know all company's' mission statements sound really good when on paper, but whether or not they really follow it is a completely different story. An interesting read though.

It's a goal. At least they have a goal.

Some businesses don't even aknowledge such ideas...

Just having a goal is meaningless today, it's just rhetoric. In fact, stating your goals and then failing to deliver is worse than just plugging along and being clueless. Overall Lexus does a pretty good job but then we hear horror stories like Daisy and her Crap Parking Assist debacle of a few months ago, and BucBaby getting lied to for the last few months, and other such episodes. Some of these are so egregious and just plain wrong/stupid it makes one wonder how Lexus can be so inept and uncaring. I see a slide overall on the level of service Lexus is providing, both from a sales and service standpoint. It seems they are stretched as sales are increasing, but sales outlets and service bays aren't. They need to address their shortcomings and not ignore them. There is no need for us here on CL to blindly carry the water for Lexus. They need to step up their game in many areas. They are getting a bit too 'fat and happy' imo.

"A goal without a plan remains a dream"

But that said, really, I've been into many showrooms and I've got to say, Lexus have the most comforting environment, the Sofa I've sat on is more comfy than Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc showrooms. :P

What Fortune 500 Company does not have a philosophy and goals and a mission statement?
