Default Infrared enforcement coming to carpool lanes

The scanning device shines an invisible infrared light on people in vehicles to zero in on human skin.

It's perfect.

On my commutes with my motorcycle, I can say that about one in every 20 cars in the carpool lane is a single person...

I dont have a problem with this at all. I never drive in the carpool lane anyways. Only exception is when I'm driving with another passenger going on a long trip.

and the side windows are all heavily tinted?

good point.

i think its nto cost effective though..

those things cost a lot of money...and i dont think they are going to catch as many..
also i dont think they will be very accurate

Wonder how it'll detect a hybrid with a legitimate carpool lane sticker.

Thats a good idea I think, but I'm sure it won't be long until someone figures out a way around it.

Yeah, thats not all its gonna scan. NExt thing you know, they will have 3D visualizations of what and who is in my car.

While I do hate HOV cheaters, there should be another way.

This is one of the reasons why tinting is regulated in so many states. These cameras may end up doing more than just nabbing HOV-scofflaws....you better be within state tinting laws as well, or, like some government vehicles, have a legal exemption.

With the number of mannequins riding in so many HOV-cars, this law will be so simple that even a dummy can understand it.
