Aston Martin DBS sold out for 5 years

Posted on: October 4th, 2007

In a print-only article in the new AutoCar, it is reported that Aston Martin has already received 1,500 orders for its new Aston Martin DBS. Aston Martin has said that it will be producing about 300 units of the DBS annually which means that the next 5 years of production have already been sold out.

CEO Ulrich Bez told AutoCar that Aston Martin is working on a way to increase production in order to keep customers happy and to keep their valued and rich customers from buying a competitor model from another auto maker.

The demand for the new Aston Martin DBS could in fact affect the production plans for the upcoming four-door Rapide.

Aston Martin’s chief designer, Marek Reichman, has previously said that the four-door-coupe will arrive in 2009 or 2010 and will cost around $400,000. Production for the Rapide has been reported to take place in the company’s Gaydon plant with a total of 1000 - 2000 units planned each year.

The demand for the DBS could force Aston Martin to outsource production of the Rapide and may even cause delay to the code-named DBX model which is said to replace the Vanquish.

I guess that's just one of the things you have to deal with when having an exclusive type of car.

Just checkout your local high-end leasing company near you as soon as they come out.

Yeah, I ordered one but it won't be ready until 2020. Luckily by then, I can actually afford what I ordered. lol

I'm not surprised. It's one sexy beast. I expect it to be the biggest seller Aston Martin has had in the modern era.
