I've always preferred a clean and simple stack compared to the Accord's busier console. Then again, the Accord's console has always been busier compared to the Camry's relatively boring console. As for the quality of the *****, i agree that they don't feel as substansial as the ***** and switchgear in my Camry. I am disappointed with the overall quality of the new Camry's compared to previous years. I feel that the overall quality of the Camry's and the new Accord's are not up to the standards previously set 10-15 years ago. The Gen. 3 Camry's were extremely well built and solid, along with my favorite Accord, the '90-'93.

So does this mean the Accord is good competition for Lexus as well?

I am sure some will cross shop with the ES 350 as well as Camry and Avalon. The Accord is so big and such a jack of all trades now.

Yeh I could definitely see these cars being cross shopped, big-midsize to full size excellent fwd cars.

I was actually surprised to see how big these cars actually are compared to some flagship luxury cars like the LS460. THe Avalon is roomier than the LS460 in every category except front legroom and rear headroom(half an inch). The Accord is pretty comparable to the LS460 in size as well.

Dimensions comparison here...

Nice review, I too like the new Accords quite a lot. It's probably the only car that I like enough that had it been available before I got my IS350, I *MAY* have opted to save myself 15k+ and get a "normal" car instead of an entry level luxury sports sedan.

Top-of-the-line Camry and Accord models, option-laden, for the most part, sell at entry-level luxury prices anyway. You can easily spend over 30K....especially on a V6 Camry XLE.
