Post Picked up an 08 G35 S Sedan with FEMALE friend

Edited: Well, I went last night to help her get an 08 Black on Graphite 35 Sedan with nav/premium/sports package for $40 OTD.

It was verrry nice. Interior is top notch. Of course having 2 lexuseses, I had to do the comparison.

The dash/door pieces had the small grainy textures and felt no different than my GX.

No nav lock out, voice recognition works beautifully, although a little slow compared to bmw's voice recog. I don't know about lexus current voice recog, but the last gen. was pathetic.
I love the compact flash slot for the MP3s along with an 8gb hard drive
Free xm and live traffic for 3 months.
Back up camera was available this year.

Leather was soft but firm, I love the "Infiniti" stitched to the seat. Had smart key with the push start.

I was a little disappointed that the sports package didn't the bbks like the coupe and wheels were 18's and not 19s.

The aluminum trim is actually a trim piece, not plastic and painted like the previous generations.
It had the paddle shifter, aluminum pedals.

It drove very nice too-firm and not stiff, better than my GS with teins cs/daizen sways/18s. Of course it's not the same size as the G35.
Sedan has 306 hp/268 torque while coupe is 330hp with 270 torque.

So being $7k cheaper with 2 extra doors and seating, it was the better buy

We didn't get to play with it much since we picked it up late last night. Salesman said to come back and he'll be more than happy to show us everything.

Service was great but their showroom wasn't impressive and doesn't leave you feeling as luxurious as lexus.

I'll take pictures later on if anyone wants.

Here's a temporary copy and paste picture(with the 17's though):

Awesome!

I'm happy that you find your car to be perfect for you. You got a great deal there.

Congrats! I love the new G35! It is a fantastic car in all aspects. A friend of mine has the '07 Sedan black/black Sport with 6sp manual and it is so nice to drive. I must agree, interior is lights years ahead of the last G35. After driving the new G35, it makes me realize how much I hate the last G35. I would pick it over the IS350 or TL-S any day. Enjoy the new car!

BTW, your paddles are made of magnesium, not aluminum.

How much did he get it for? I figured out if I can get a sedan for invoice then I can get a 2 year lease on one with 12k miles a year, zero down, with nav/xm and premium package for about $490/month including tax. MSRP right about 37k.

That's assuming I can get it for invoice, though. They seemed to indicate the sedans were quite a bit more negotiable than the coupes. Doesn't hurt to ask, though - all they can do is say no thanks.

Still, the 335i is calling my name. 45k MSRP and monthly payment only about 50 dollars more per month...

I was actually looking into the G35x before purchasing an IS250AWD. I got the better deal for the IS.

i test drove one over the wknd. my uncle had his QX56 getting serviced. so i got a test drive in one with about 700 miles. it was an auto (disappointed) but i took it for a great run. its very nice/quick and like you all said the interior was beautiful.

one thing that i loved was that it had a screen even though no navi, unlike the IS.

The new G35 sedan is a very impressive car, especially for the price, a big improvement over the previous. I actually like it's looks better than the G37coupe.
Good choice !! Congratulations

Thanks everyone.
Sorry for the confusion in the title. The G35 was for my friend and she loves it.

She got it for $36,8XX and $40k OTD. She financed it through her credit union.

Yeah, there were too many things so I didn't pay attention which is magnesium (like Mitsu's outlander right) vs aluminum

Oh yeah, they wouldn't budge on the coupe and for $7k more, I think the sedan was a much better bargain.
I couldn't tell the difference, especially she won't be driving that hard anyways.

I'm sure next year (a couple more months), it'll go down in price for the coupe.

It was a test drive and the car had only 10 miles, so I didn't push it beyond 60 mph anyways.

I got to drive it a little more at lunch time. I must say that it doesn't shift as smooth though as compared to my GS (can that even be compared?). It absorbed the bumps verrrry well.

Nevertheless, I like it myself

I agree, congrats, great car for the price in the low 30 range.

GS3Tek, the GS 350 and G35 are very similar in dimensions. The G35 is big for its class.

Really?
Maybe exterior wise, but when she sat in the driver seat while saleman was showing some of the features, I had a hard time getting in the back seat.....and I'm not that tall at all.
Interior is small like the IS.

When we test drove the coupe, poor salesman was squished in the back. We felt sorry for him, but he insisted

Thanks Andrew.
However, it's still confusing. Still can be construed as "I" picked up an 08 G35 sedan with FEMALE friend.
"Friend picked up an 08 G35 S Sedan and I went with her".
I could never work in journalism.

Oy, I never had so much grammatical trouble with something so simple
