You mean this:

I think that was a design study for the second gen IS.

If the SC is discontinued, it will be replaced by a hardtop convertible IS...

A hardtop convertible IS will NEVER serve as a real replacement for the SC convertible, it's like saying a hardtop convertible CLK or the SLK will serve as a replacement for the SL if they don't make it anymore.

Agreed. The IS coupe convertible will definitely never replace the SC. The IS coupe convertible would be an addition to the Lexus lineup and be part of the IS series/class/group. The original SC300/400 had a long cycle in which the SC 300 with a straight six motor was eventually discontinued, sad but true. The SC 400 became the SC 430. If one follows the pattern of Lexus most likely the SC 430 will become the SC 460...

In addition the LF-A will not be the SC either. It would be an exotic sports car added to the Lexus lineup...

IS-C is not a preview to the next SC but a design study for the 2009 IS coupe/convert coming to the market.

Lexus definitely won't release something that looks like that (picture above) as an SC. I don't think the SC will be discontinued, Lexus will not dissapoint, just like they haven't dissapointed us with any of the new models.

I hope they do make the IS coupe/convertible drastically different from the sedan. Just fix the butt a bit and the concept is good to go in my book.
