Someone should start a business and import the Lada Niva down under!

Ladas are some interesting machine (and despite their probems) having seen them firsthand back when I visited what was then East Germany, also saw a few in Canada. My first vivid experience was a short time ago when I used to go by one that was outside the Cuban Embassy here that was across the street from a very nice Mexican restaurant I liked. Then one day I saw the owner (it had diplomatic plates) and talked to him. I don't really care much about the politics involved, it's all cars. Eventually, he brought the vehicle over to my uncle to get worked on and we had to basically fabricate some parts for the poor little vehicle, but otherwise a very simple easy to work on vehicle kind of like the VW Beetle is down here for us.
