Default anyone got extended warranty...

i posted this in the clubhouse..... i think this is the right place to do it..

As some of you may know i donated my Lexus ES to the blind. I just recently got mysel fa 2004 Audi A6 2.7T S-line .. anyways as much as i love this new car, it is well known how bad and costly things could get. I'm looking to get a bumper to bumper extended warranty on this car. it currently have about 52K and NOTHING wrong with it. Has anyone bought any type of warranty? i have read buying it from a Broker is cheaper than the dealers. Can someone please enlighten me.

I don't know about extended warranties, but if you're buying a high mileage Audi, all I can say is that you DEFINATELY need to get it!!!

one major repair or a couple minor repairs will probably cover the warranty cost

As boring and tedious as it may be, make sure you get a copy of the warranty documents, and read them, especially the exclusions portion. If it's so much cheaper than the factory warranty, it may be more like a service contract than a warranty--which means you have deductibles, etc. If there were a major mechanical malfunction, it's better to only pay a deductible, but you just need to understand how it works with the initial up-front pricing. Also, if you get it from a 3rd party, you better be confident that 3rd party will still be around if you have a claim.
