This seems more realistic given your age.

Yes but living near the "hood" doesn't help either.

Lots of tickets and under 25? I think you pretty much answered your own question.

Not only are you a high risk, but a car like a Lexus costs more to repair than a Nissan or Acura, hence the higher premiums.

My previous car was a 2002 Maxima SE which I purchased new. The rates were way lower on that compared with a 5-7 yr old GS400. Even the rates on a new Acura 3.2TL were about the same as the Maxima.

I don't think they actually expect someone to cough up $500 a month for insurance - I think they are just trying to deter you from owning that car with your current record/age. I've never even had car payments that high!

Get yourself a nice Corolla that can't get you into trouble and step it up when the tix are off the record and/or when you turn 25.

I'm not in Cali - but my rates are around $1300/yr with 300k coverage, 250 deductible. Of course it helps that I'm 32 and have a clean record. There is a benefit of getting old....heheh..

Hmmm..
23 + 07 IS350 + Reckess Driving Ticket = 100 a month for insurance
24 + 07 IS350 - Reckless Driving Ticket = 75 a month for insurance.

I have State Farm with all the bells and whistles. My pricing is roughly 5 months a part. Tickets hurt. ALOT.

Run your record at your DMV, and find out how long tickets sit on your record in your state. For my State it is 3 years.. and it doesn't matter that the insurance runs 5 years cause if the State has purged it, they don't see it!

yea i was an idiot in my teenage years, i have 3 speeding tickets on my record. i also have a suspended license violation. i was also involved in a few small accidents one of which was not my fault, but i geuss some companies charge extra for these too.

even though i have drastically changed my driving ways im sure my insurance company wont ever take notice.

im pissed off now, i didnt even realize my insurance rates were so high. im getting ripped off by these quotes, maybe i can find cheaper somewhere else.
