Oh..... sorry my my..
Even more interesting is the fact that Edmunds didn't do proper launches with the IS-F. Edmunds is comparing the mediocre times it got for the IS-F to best-case times of what a 335i can achieve.

C&D showed best-case times for the IS-F, and using C&D's numbers the IS-F is much quicker than a 335i.

You can look at the trap times too. The IS-F trapped faster than the RS4, yet posted slower numbers. Big indication of a improper launches.

I think these reviews are all pretty good. I'm really interested in the tranny, seems to be a trick piece. I love the fact that technology keeps advancing, I forget the ratio at which E-Gear / F1 Lambos and Ferraris outnumber their 6speed counterparts. It seems as if we are getting further and further away from the traditional manual, with auto gearboxes like the IS-F is reported to have.

(Not a all a bash towards manuals, just a technological observation)

I believe they adjust the numbers for weather and sea level. Basically it means if you are drag racing on the PCH in Malibu on a nice 80 degree sunny day, you probably wont achieve the C&D numbers.

i still doubt anyone will say the IS-F is better then the RS4. just driving a baseline fwd s-line a4 will blow away an IS250 in terms of handling and overall balance. imagine an a4 with tons more power, handling like a razor, and a purpose built engine, the IS-F didnt have a chance.

Dude, the IS was said to be MORE of the track car (better handling) and didn't even lose the battle by 2 points.

Both cars are superb.

have anything that shows the handling of the A4 S-line fwd? As an IS250 with X-Package, seemed to be pretty good handling caar

Holy Mother of God...
C63 did 3.9s to 60 and 12.3s in 1/4 @116mph...

C&D ranking
1st - M3 4.3s & 12.8s @113mph
2nd - C63 3.9s & 12.3s @ 116mph
3rd - RS4 4.5s & 13.1s @108mph
the rest of the comparo is here. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...08-bmw-m3.html

Wished the IS-F was also included and wonder where they would place it.

like putting 4 tips on a single piece 2 chambered exhaust is any different, LS460 is using a similar design but no one talks bad about that

i can also imagine it would be a nightmare in the 5mph rear bumper test you would not want your exhaust system connected to the rear bumper during impact. It will cause more damage than necessary, and plus you dont want a plastic bumper directly connected because of the heat. On any car they will give a good distance the exhaust/muffler is away from any plastic because of the heat. I can damage the entire exhaust system if you had tips connected to the rear bumper and I rear ended an IS-F

I really dont get why people make a big deal of out this, there are tons of cars that pop 4 tips out from a single muffler, which isnt any different
