hmmm..... so the IS-F is a little faster (or maybe the same) than the M3, can put up identical roadholding numbers (.91 G) and beat it in the slalom (66 mph for M3 vs 70 mph for IS-F, although maybe the numbers would be closer if tested on the same conditions and same driver. does this mean the IS-F has real chance of coming on top? 0-60 of 3.9 for the C63 is impressive but like the article stated, thats from the extra 40 or so hp it has vs the other cars.

Car and Driver are never fair IMO I believe that BMW lost one comparo and that was I think about a year ago with the Infiniti M45, Mercedes E, and BMW 5er.

and here we go with the C&D stuff.....

BMW's lose lots of comparisons in C&D - try reading it before making comments like the one above.

^^^Exactly. Geez, you really cannot go wrong with ANY of these cars in this segment. They are ALL great in their own way. Great review...kudos to BMW for winning. It's a great time to be a car enthusiast!

The Benz is amazing. 3.9 to 60! This thing will be on par with a C6 Z06 Vette to 60 once broken in I crave a used E55 AMG..

IMO some of you guys are making too much of the C63's 3.9 second 0-60 second time, even as quick as it is. There's lots more criteria to judge a car with then just dragster acceleration. Even C&D, no fans of mushy suspensions by any means, complained about its ride. And then there is the notorious second-rate M-B electronics that often keep the car in the shop as much as it is out.

They were probably correct to rate the M3 on top. For a truly unique sport-sedan experience, and for some of the best steering and chassis dynamics in the world, it is hard to beat BMW (yes, I-Drive and all ).

However, if I were buying one of these cars, it would probably be the Audi. Not only do you get the benefits, stability, and traction of Quattro AWD, but Audi's famous interior quality as well.....even if they consider its looks a little "dated".

Maybe on the "Ring". Everyday and well add the panache of owning a Benz, well, some people don't even know the GT-R exists.

Apples to Oranges really. BTW, I'm a GT-R fan since the R32.

The attributes of a BMW appeal to them (the mag is after all called Car & DRIVER) - however, just read the intro to this article and they even admit they picked the RS4 over the old M3 in the last comparo.

As far as the GT-R "existing", has it actually been released for sale in the U.S.? We know, of course, that it's coming. I don't know of any specific ones in my area here...but I'll check.

And speaking of the R32, SICK, did you check out the thread about one catching fire just sitting in the lot?

I'd toss in the new Cadillac CTS-V as well, when it becomes available. I was quite impressed with the FE-2 Sport version of the regular CTS.....IMO it is the best new GM car in years.

You and me both. If Lutz & company stuffs the LS7 motor & tranny in there, the game is over.
