Since GTR is a turbocharged car like the 335i will someone be able to develop a chip that increases the hp and torque tremendously like the procede chip for the 335i? the procede chip adds approximately 33% more hp and torque for the 335i, which means that with a less impressive gain of 25% the GTR will have 600 hp and 540 lb/ft torque. What other inexpensive mods will be possible for such a powerful car? I read somewhere that the GTR was actually detuned from 600 hp, if this is true is there a easy way to unleash all the hp?

FI cars always have 3rd party chips available. These chips add tremendous power but reduce reliability and void the factory warranty. The GTR will most likely easily surpass the 500hp and maybe 600hp with a simple chip.

GTR are known best for tuning.
You can bet there wil be a lot of chips, tuner parts available before it even come out!
600HP is eaily in reach.

Nissan has announced they will race the GT-R in Super GT so I definitely expect a lot of crazy aftermarket parts from the Japanese tuners.

eventually yes, but it will take time. this gt-r is not like the last, nor is it like the 335i in terms of how its built and whats involved to mod it.

why are people so fascinated by Shivnu? Knowledgable people that have had experience with the technical portions of his work know first hand how crappy and dangerous his tunes are. ALthough they make power, the question is at what sacrifice? Read any of about his old One Lap Evo and see how it self-destructed.

With that said, yes you bet you there will be aftermarket support. I hope some intelligent people can crack into the ECU itself so we can self-tune a la the Evo world.

I think because he was the first person that had the wherewithal to develop something for the 335i. His product was out, literally, months before anyone else's, so he had a huge head start. Products like the JB2, AA Xede, TT, etc are all catching up now and are much more conservative.
