I have 5% all around and 15% on the front two, I believe in here in Texas is anything less than 30% is illegal. I haven't gotten pulled over yet but mine has a fade so it mixes in alittle.

I drove my car to Louisiana one time and got pulled over for tint at 6:00 am by a state trooper parked in the medium on the other side of the freeway. He keep me on the side of the road for about 30min and finally let me go with out checking my tint. I was not speeding or anything. I told him that the car (that is registered in Texas) just passed Texas state inspection. He must have been board or something

I cant tell you how many times I've been pulled for tint. Since I was 16 I've always had 15% or less all around on my vehicles and 3 out of 4 have had the entire windshield tinted too. I usually just give them the "I'm protecting my investment" speech and I get away with a verbal warning.

my 2GS got a "fix-it" ticket before for having tint on the driver and front passenger window
it was a light tint....
stupid cops, i can see perfectly fine anytime of the day out of my windows

Pulled by State Trooper.... he asked me what % it was.. seemed he liked my tint instead of trying to give me a ticket.

No Ticket! From a state trooper! Pretty amazing, he said "dont let me catch u again"

i have 30 tint all around... i never have issues with cops.. although there was this one time a cop stared at me for quite some time at a stoplight... i didn't know wither he was trying to figure out if i had tint or if he thought i was too young to be driving haha...

Ever since back around 1992 or so when all our state annual inspection stations were required to have tint light meters and a lot of on duty police were also issued them to use on the streets, I removed my illegal tint and stuck to legal 35%. I've had a friend who got pulled over for illegal tint (Cops can simply measure the tint with the meter not) and made him rip it off on the side of the street, or they would have impounded his car. Either way he got the ticket and had to pay the fine, but at least he drove his car home.

Its just a threat, but here it is considered an equipment violation. Really a minor violation, but technically since it is an equipment violation, the car is not legal as is to be driven on the street. If the cop wanted to push the issue, he can impound the car since its not legal for street use, but just to teach you a lesson the often make you peel it off yourself. At least you spend 1 hour on the side of the road rather than risk having your car impounded. I never knew anyone that actually got their car impounded, but I do know a few people that were threatened with that so elected to simply peel the tint off. A cop once made my friend peel the red film off his tail lights since technically that is also illegal.

None here at all in Upper FL. It's not that big of a deal here. I've seen plenty of rides with limo tint and they are still around, so theres not much cracking down on tint here.
