After a busy day studying all day long at the library, I wanted to reward myself with a nice meal. My friend and I decided to eat a long john's silver. We got into our cars and headed out. I was following his RX-8 and obeying ALL traffic rules. THere was a stop light ahead, so i just cruised along until i stopped. I was chillin at the stop light and i notice this motorcycle on my right side mirror. I was wondering "why the hell is the motorcycle so close to my car? Just go in between the cars to get to the front of the stop light." Light turned green, then i see blue and red lights flashing. I knew it, I'm getting pulled over for tint. I quickly rolled my windows down, but he already knew i had tint.
Anyways... no big deal. Just remove the tint, pay 10 bucks, then retint. That's my plan

First problem ..... equating 'nice' meal with Long John Silver.

How dark is your tint? I've got tint, but it is legal so I don't expect to get pulled over, and if I do get stopped there is nothing they can do about it. It passes spec in Texas.

I have 17% tint by the way. It's dark i know, not as dark as it seems because my interior is sterling.

Long John Silvers pretty good!!! Its a bit expensive but the seafood is pretty good!

It does depend on where you are and whether or not the cop is having a bad day. I have 35% tint and I've had several cops roll right next to me and stare directly at me through my tinted glass and go along on their merry way. That said, I usually roll with my windows down or my sunroof open just to be safe. However, 17% tint is just asking for it though. Especially in CA, where legal tint is no tint, you should go with a lighter shade at least up front, to be safe.

agreed cops in CA are a PITA for tint esp CHP they are the ones who pull for tint the most at least within my group of friends.

I had two friends last month got pulled for 35%

Im still thinking what % to go. orginally was 35 but unsure

I haven't gotten pulled over for tint yet. I have 18% but cashmere it does help though.

Don't have any, pure stock. However, where I live in the Mexico City metro area, if the police can't see the driver's face, you get a ticket, purely subjective.

I got pulled over in FFX County, VA for tint it was measured at 18% I was still cited even though I'm a resident of MD where my car is also registered. Well no surprise I could just "pay" the fine and not take the tint off........it was all about money.....oh well.

I've been pulled over twice for window tint in 4 years (in NJ where no tint is legal tint). I have 15% window tint and both times I wasnt cited.

Yep, I got stop by CHP for having 30% tint and the only good thing that came out of it is he put it as a fix-it-ticket...

iirc now CHP gives you a fine instead of a ticket.
