That interior is something and I like those gauges, very creative.

YAAWWWWWNNNNN!!!!!

Toyota is having a tough time pushing gas Tundras. Do they think the heavy duty truckers out there are gonna drop their powerstrokes, duramax and cummins diesels for this thing? I see it simply as a show concept car.

the only way to succeed in the diesel market is to show more reliability durability and power than the competitoin. power sells trucks.

Customer: Huh? It looks like the Dodge Ram, I like it but it's made in japan.
Salesperson: Mr. Customer, this Tundra is a true American-made truck. Not Mexico nor Canada.

However, I would much rather have the Allison transmission for heavy duty work. If there is any company that knows how to make heavy duty transmission, allison would be it. Aisin can make bad *** transmissions too, but so far the only truck that has the Aisin tranny would be the Dodge Ram Diesel.
ZF's are failure prone, I see so many transit buses drop like flies when their ZF trannies fail. Allison has the whole bus market to themselves along with Voith. Even GM is buying Aisin trannies for Saturns - but they use the crappy ZF in the Silverado/Sierra HDs.

I didn't think it was possible to make the Tundra any bigger... Apparently, I was wrong.

Finally, a True Full-Size Tundra from Toyota
Competing automakers were likely nervous in anticipation of Toyota's launch of its much-anticipated 2007 Tundra in February. However, early sales have been lower than expected, putting into question Toyota’s goal of 200,000 deliveries this year. Toyota officials have said they misjudged demand for the different body styles and engines and downplayed criticism that the truck was priced too high. But May sales saw a rebound. A heavy-duty version of the Toyota Tundra also awaits approval.

I actually know 2 close friends that would drop their Silverado and Ram in a heartbeat (minus pun) to purchase a new Tundra Diesel HD if made and the specs were decent. Too big for my needs though and hopefully it does not have that annoying diesel noise.
