SEMA: Toyota Tundra Diesel Dually Concept

Tundra sales just exceeded Camry. Made in Texas, Built by Texans.
Customer: I'm looking for an American-made pickup truck.
Salesperson: Great, let me show you the All-new 2007 Toyota Tundra....
Customer: Huh? It looks like the Dodge Ram, I like it but it's made in japan.
Salesperson: Mr. Customer, this Tundra is a true American-made truck. Not Mexico nor Canada.

Aisin happens to be one the larger OEM supplies for transmission and other mischellaneous parts for Toyota, Honda, Dodge, etc.
However, I would much rather have the Allison transmission for heavy duty work. If there is any company that knows how to make heavy duty transmission, allison would be it. Aisin can make bad *** transmissions too, but so far the only truck that has the Aisin tranny would be the Dodge Ram Diesel.

Finally, a True Full-Size Tundra from Toyota
Competing automakers were likely nervous in anticipation of Toyota's launch of its much-anticipated 2007 Tundra in February. However, early sales have been lower than expected, putting into question Toyota’s goal of 200,000 deliveries this year. Toyota officials have said they misjudged demand for the different body styles and engines and downplayed criticism that the truck was priced too high. But May sales saw a rebound. A heavy-duty version of the Toyota Tundra also awaits approval.
