Lexus IS-F hints at the design of all F cars
The new IS-F sedan has shown that engineers at Lexus can build performance cars that can go head-to-head with sport saloons from their German rivals, but convincing buyers the new ‘F’ brand can equal the more established ‘M’ and ‘AMG’ marques is a much tougher challenge. There’s no doubting the IS-F is a solid car. Unfortunately, many agree its stock interior, awkward bodykit and ungainly bonnet bulge doesn’t meld to form a complete package.
Toyota’s design chief Wahei Hirai acknowledged that there were such complaints during a recent interview with Ward’s, but said in defense that the goal with the IS-F was to create a feel for all F performance models rather than focus on the single IS-F.
One way Hirai hopes to differentiate F cars from its German rivals is by creating cars with more aggressive styling. “They appreciate consistency, or continuity, very much. We like to make (our vehicles) a different way,” Hirai explained. “We have to establish our own identity as a Lexus premium brand.”

I love the looks. Not b/c its a beauty, like an Aston Martin. More like b/c its like the GT-R, both are not beauty queens but striking and can't be mistaken for anything else.
Give me big wings, fender vents and hoods!!
And quite frankly the IS-F is no worse looking than most Bangle BMWs and tons of people butt hump those cars.

its realy not that bad for they're first try, its fast, it handels, better than expected, and the tranny is even better than the amg cars, the only thing they can realy ***** about are the cosmetics, and that can easily be changed

i really want to see this car succeed, but im not sure if it will. it looks nice to me, but im sure that others will say it looks awkward, its a lexus, therefore cant be a sports car, and will say they would rather have an m3 or s4, but i guess we will have to see

It's interesting that these comments come from people who have never seen the car in person. Let's face it, most people on this board have NOT. I know of no one who hasn't changed their mind about the styling after seeing it in the flesh, me included. For anyone who hasn't seen the car in person, check it out. The pictures do NOT do this car justice.
