Even with its chopped off rear, the Chevy Malibu is a looker!!

If anyone thinks the Accord looks better than this car, they're either
1) Blind
2) Blinded by the "H" badge up front.
The Accord is a styling disaster with a mishmash of design themes all stuffed into one car. I'm not sure that I like the Camry's blob styling either. But then again, Toyota was never about style/design.

The rear totally ruins the car for me, the front is very clean but the rear is a 80's comeback disaster. The front has that CTS grille which actually works well with this car. I've always liked Audi's split grille bumper and this one is pretty nice as well.
The new Accord looks like a cheaper RL. A bit weird but not ugly, it's a car I could get used to. The Malibu's rear will never grow on me.
I'm not a Honda fan-boy either.

I was actually going to give Kudos as the interior is very nice for a GM product.
Great family/company car with style.
Honestly would put it on the list if in this market.

I believe it is. Maybe with the Chevy badge it will sell better than the Saturn version. When the Aura came out it won a couple of awards, but doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire. In Oct. the Camry and Accord both sold over 30,000 cars and the Aura sold about 4,000. Even the Altima sold 22,000.

IMHO the Accord and Camry look better than this. It looks like they ran out ideas/time when they got to the rear end. Honestly the rear end doesn't fit the rest of the car.

Well, it's not what I call a bad-looking car, but IMO it's nothing to get excited about. In actuality, it is just another rebadged version of the same platform and body shell that produced the Opel (Astra?), Saturn Aura, and Pontiac G6, though of course Pontiac's is the only version with the folding hardtop. The resemblance to the Saturn Aura, especially, is very strong....even down to the ultra-low roofline, one of the lowest I've ever seen in a family sedan.
From what I understand, another Malibu Maxx hatchback/wagon version is out, at least for the American market (poor sales on the last one), but I wouldn't be surprised to see an SS version in a few months...probably with a high-powered V6. The front end is probably too small for the 5.3L V8 used in the larger Impala SS....and the Impala SS has problems with torque steer.
