Default Replacement Keys

Lost keys to my LX470 [1999] and dealer wants what I term an un-Godly amount of money to replace. Can anyone suggest any alternative vendors/aftermarket/locksmith etc.? Thanks.

try ebay--but the dealer will still need to program them.

If you lost ALL the keys, then I think you're stuck paying the ungodly amount. If you just lost 1 key, you can buy one off ebay I think.

Thanks for the response thus far. I called a couple different Lexus dealers about my situation. Both confirmed the amount would be roughly $1500 or more to replace the keys which also includes taking out the ECM and installing another to confirm with the new keys. Another lexus dealer put it at $2500. I don't understand the lack of conformity among pricing but I do understand these qoutes are unacceptable.

As such, I found a vendor on line who specializes in Lexus and Toyota key replacement. They claim the ability to "Re-Flash" the ECM and send you new keys. The costs to re-flash, provide one master key, a second non remote key and valet key, came to just over $300.00. I found various testimonials on the website. If anyone has heard of "re-flashing" the ecm, your input is appreciated. Otherwise, the $300 bucks is worth the attempt if its legit. Otherwise, I'll have to bite the bullet.

Default Replacement Keys- Re-Flashing?

I posted earlier about my lost key situation. I located a company on line that will replace my keys at a nominal cost using a method called re-flashing that involves reprogramming of the ecm and enabling new keys that are conforming. Anyone knowledgable of this method. The company is out of Ohio and appear to have years of experience behind them.
