Model age should have nothing to do with this rebate, they should address old models like the RX/LX by rebating more to the dealers so they can discount more, a seperate issue from exchange rates.

I think what they SHOULD have done is to absorb a certain % (say 10 %) of the GST/PST for ALL models as a rebate to their customers, that would make it a lot more equitable.

I would be pissed if I buy a C$123,000 LS460L Executive Package & only get a C$8,500 rebate, whereas another person buys a $132,000 BASE LS600hL & gets a C$12,000 rebate

Yeah but I think we need to give credit wher credit is due. $5k off an IS/ES and so forth for the other models is pretty darn good. Yes it pales in comparison to the US prices but it's on par with what MB and Audi are offering.

You wanna tell me what Toyota is offering? Not much except on the Sequoia. A Camry only gets $1k off. $500 if it's the hybrid.

Hmm.. let's see... $1k off a Camry XLE V6.. that's $36.5k. $5,500 off a 2008 ES350. That's $37,400. Oh look, an ES cost < $1k more!

Yeah but it does. The older models get a larger discount as listed. Are they paying the 1% GST or do we have to wait til Jan 1 and after the "December to Remember" event?

"All offers end January 2, 2008" I guess they don't want to sell any cars after that date

Honestly it should be on all models.
Is the cash credit before or after taxes?
