Pretty close specs, but do remember there is a ~$4,550 difference in price (MSRP) base G37S/base 335i. To me that means a nearly a G37s w/nav and premium package + 19x8.5,19x9.0 vs. a base 335i with dinky 17x8. In stock form, I'd still take the G37 for the long haul.

As a whole, I'd say Motorweek's 0-62 times are mostly on the "slower" side...

Because the same testers have been there since the show started in the 80's. John Davis, Pat Goss & others.. They are like 75years old thus the slow test numbers

Ding... Ding... Ding! Survey says... "You are correct sir!"

Now then... I've seen a handful of G37's on the road, and they are quite distinguishable from the G35C to my eyes. Of course I don't wear glasses or anything...
Nice car and easily one of the most visually appealing coupes on the road. This car has plenty o' mod potential!

that's what i think as well, and the 1/4 as well as braking aren't on the good side neither

overall i would still choose 335 over this

Yikes, it's almost as heavy as the IS-F... with a manual transmission... and an equally bad weight balance.

I would too, & the new body style has not grown on me at all, I actually like the new G35 sedan's look better than the coupe, especially seen in person.

Wow...I had no idea the G37 has such a tiny trunk. What exactly is eating its trunk space vs. the G35 anyway? And the 335i coupe gets a trunk that's 3 cu. ft. larger than the 335i sedan? Doesn't make sense to me.

I can't say I'm suprised at all. The trapspeed is what I'm looking at.

Its heavy and runs an overrated VQ motor. I know the pre-HR motors don't make their advertised power ratings; and I suspected Nissan might be providing a ringer for early testing (much like I suspect they did with the GTR). Power/weight-wise the G37 shouldnt be any faster (only slightly) than a stock 2003 350Z (280ish hp and 3300lbs). Trap speeds seem to indicate this; regardless of how poor the launch was.

Default bummer

Looks like I'll just keep my 350Z, I can't see how the new G37 can be a whole second slower, my 2003 is lighter than even the newer 350Z by 200lbs but it only has 287hp.

I posted this article on the 350z forums and they are saying Car and Driver got a 5.4-5.5 out of it and that autos are trapping high 13's so there must have been something wrong with the test driver (it was an auto though )

The G37 has almost no rear overhang; just like the G35. That and the high decklid with a spare tire (with a really small opening fwiw) make for a very, very shallow trunk (coupes generally have shallow trunks, the G37 has a very shallow one). The 335i has the weird benefit of being designed with a retractable hardtop version in mind, so it has a longer rear overhang and deeper trunk. The 335i also has no spare. The cubic volume of the 335i's trunk is actually more than my old G35 *sedan*. Oh, and worth noting; with the 335i you can fold the rear seats down flat, not so with G37/G35.

To the guys bringing up MSRP, there is no doubt the G37 is a great value.
