C&D must always get ringers. How else do you explain this?

I dont think the problem lies with the cars looks. It's the lack of power that really breaks the deal for someone like me. Although I agree that the previous G35 coupe had a more stunning exterior when it first came out, this model still did improve on that cars looks interior and exterior. But they really dropped the bomb by not making the car any faster (or slower according to this thread).

Design is eating the trunk space. G37 just like G35 has proper sports car lines while 335 or A5 have typical sedan shapes but with two doors instead of four. Especially A5 and new A4 are so identical if you see them side by side in person.
G is the only car in entry luxury segment that looks like a sport coupe and I applaud for that.

Whoa those numbers are BS ... I just raced a G37 coupe a weekend or two ago and there is no way it runs 0 - 60 in 6.2 ... I have an '01 GS430 and I'm running anywhere from 5.6 - 5.8 and the G took me off the line by a whole car length, I didn't pass until I was at around 80 - 90 mph ... They really underrated those numbers

One reason I hate magazine/bench racing. And I have about a dozen more reasons why bench-racing & magazine racing, especially 0-60's, are a HORRIBLE method of comparing two vehicle's straight line acceleration.
1SICKLEX, the G37 has clocked a 0-60 of 5.3 & 5.4 in many reviews. Best 0-60 I have seen to date for the newer generation G's are from the 07 G Sedan, which clocked a 0-60 of 5.2. Anyhow, these numbers mean absolutely nothing to me (im a frequent drag racer).

I can't say I'm suprised at all. The trapspeed is what I'm looking at.
Its heavy and runs an overrated VQ motor. I know the pre-HR motors don't make their advertised power ratings; and I suspected Nissan might be providing a ringer for early testing (much like I suspect they did with the GTR). Power/weight-wise the G37 shouldnt be any faster (only slightly) than a stock 2003 350Z (280ish hp and 3300lbs). Trap speeds seem to indicate this; regardless of how poor the launch was.

I'm a frequent drag racer. And there have been days where my trap speed has hit as high as 101 mph, and days where my trap speed was as low as 96 mph. This has been without any modifications to the car. The location, temperature, & elevation of where the tests are conducted play a huge roll in performance stats.
The G37, although im not such a fan of its weight, has shown to hit almost 104 mph in its 1/4 mile trap speed (103.8 to be exact). If I remember correctly, it was a recent R&T review that got these numbers.
1SICKLEX, the first two black G37's you posted, especially the 1st one, look stunning. My preference still lies with the lines of the G35 Coupe though

You're missing one huge ingredient in this statement of yours: DA's & conditions.

Two can u post some modded pics and be helpful.
Three as one that also drags and hosts drag events, I am no mag racer.
U can't ignore bad slow stats or stats u don't like b/c u luv the car that much. U have ur best times, ur worst times and avg times. This happens at the strip too.
U of course forget that b/c ur chariot cannot be slow.
OH NOES!!
