^^ Not this US member this thing is small and funky looking and I don't like small and funky looking cars, I don't care whose badge is on it.

+1. I see no compelling reason to get this over a 335 unless you REALLY like the styling more.

I'm going to review a 1-series for you guys soon........probably during or right after the holidays, depending on, of course, if they are available in my area.

I like what little I've seen of it.....in pictures. IMO, visually, it's the best Chris Bangle design yet. It seems to be a modern replacement, market-wise, for the old BMW 2002 from the 60s and 70s. An airline pilot friend of mine has an old 2002, though not particularly well-kept. I've driven it on several occasions.

True that.

On the other hand, a full-boogey 335ci lists for $66,500
(did BMW forget that this car is the size of a Civic?)

For the size of the 1-series, I'd rather have a Mini.

A standard Mini seems a lot smaller than the 1-series. The stretched Mini Clubman may be a closer comparison, size-wise, but there is still no real comparing the two......the Clubman is essentially a small panel truck.

And if that's the case you should get your eyes checked or get therapy.

It's probably the most mis-proportioned, poorly designed car I've ever seen.
It has awkward lines going every which way and makes no sense. I'd place it in the Pontiac Aztec category.

I'd easily choose a Toyota Yaris sedan over this. Seriously.

Owners better not go around with a proud "I have a Bimmer" attitude.

I think this car is not a bad looking machine; the styling I find is quite nice, unique, and muscular. I also think it must be an absolute hoot to drive, with a lighter, more responsive chassis and the same hp as the 335. In fact, I would go out on a limb and say that I would actually not mind driving or buying this car for myself... if it were about 7k cheaper. Because, really, this car is MASSIVELY overpriced, as is the 3er itself. BMW thinks they can charge the SAME for a 1er as other manufacturers are charging for C class, IS, G35, CTS, etc., and you know what? They can, because people are still being suckered in.

I agree that its shape is a little odd, but I myself wouldn't get a Yaris over this. Both IMHO are on my "Odd" to put it nicely list of cars, but if I had to pick either or, I'd take the odd looking car with the Twin Turbo I6 than the 4 banger Yaris. That said, I'd probably just buy a 335i and be done with it. The 1 series is just too expensive and too close in prive to the 335i.
