Yes, precisely. Despite the terrible reliability and service problems with my C43, that car was fun to drive but since then AMG has been little more than putting bigger and bigger engines into its cars - and adding FI to those already-oversized engines to boot. This is why I'm no longer an AMG fan.

 

not to mention it's so cool trying to see the c63 TRYING to hit the apex, and then comes the m3

 

Man I dont mind having all 3 cars.

 

RS5 would own all three

power/speed C63 > M3 > RS4 but RS5 = C63

handling M3 > RS4 > C63 but RS5 should = M3 (less understeer than RS4, better F/R weight ratio, etc)

safety/refinement RS4 > M3 > C63 but RS5 > RS4

 

yeah, the RS5 would own the comp, but it is also much more than the M3 or C63. I would have liked to see the IS-F, though it was kind-of a "German" thing. I hope next season to see sort of like a Viper base vs IS-F vs M3. That would be a good comp, I'm not sure if the new Viper stays in the same price category as these cars though.

 

lol why would the Viper be in teh same category? its like 8.0 liters with 550 bhp and a completely different type of car. viper would fit more with the Z06 vs GTR vs Viper comp.

As these cars get better and better from everyone, they are all winners in my book and picking one over the other really requires expertise and extensive testing with them.

The Viper would be in the same category, as long as Dodge manages to keep the price down. A fun, agile, sports car.

 

These three cars from BMW, MB, and Audi are what we call small super sedans (incorporates luxury with a lot of sport). A dodge viper is competition for Porsche and Ferrari super cars, not luxury sedans.

Well the RS5 will have a 450-480 hp engine (either a twin turbo 4.2 FSI V8 or a detuned Gallardo V10). So in straight line performance it will match or better the class leading C63. The S5 is supposedly a much better handling car than the S4 because of the engine position (moved back behind the front wheels) and a better F/R weight ratio. So it would be logical to assume that the RS5 will handle better than the RS4 which is not a bad handling car itself. So most likely the RS5 will handle very close to the BMW M3 or maybe even better. I dont think I have to mention the build quality, safety and refinement of a Audi A5/S5, and an RS5 would be even better. So the RS5 beats the class winner M3 in two of the three major categories and ties or maybe even beats the M3 in handling. btw someone mentioned the price but the RS5 will most likely cost about 3-5k more than the RS4 which is around 74k fully loaded vs C63 ~73k fully loaded and M3 ~70k fully loaded.
