Mitsubishi hopes to conquest BMW and Audi buyers

Yes, precisely. That's what everyone in this thread is missing. The way the EVO is different now is in its refinement and movement towards a mainstream everyday vehicle. That's why it is losing some of its hardcore fans, but it aims to take market share away from people who do not view the EVO as a daily driver.

I'm still torn on the look of the new Evo, which most consider quite an improvement over the previous version. I seriously doubt they will be taking away from anyone who is in the market for a BMW or Audi. Getting more women to buy an Evo? It just ain't gonna happen Mitsubishi!! Most people that are looking to buy a BMW or Audi are buying for the name. They don't want to be pulling up to the club rolling in a Mitsu.
Nothing personal against Mitsubishi (especially since I own a Mitsu), but they're just going after the wrong market/demographic. They need to go after WRX STI, R32, etc.

I don't think Mitsu is being unreasonable here. You would be surprised how many 3 series owners also own EVO as a weekend toy
But.. now i'm getting old and need something comfortable and i can drive stock i would probably sell the evo and replace it with a IS350 or 330i... not gonna consider another evo...

i don't think i'd pay $40K for the horrible interiors that are mitsubishi lancers...
when i can pay that much for an IS... or an Audi. or hell, even a BMW--and sit in a exponentially better place.
