I'm with you on that one. I don't see the problem with having a station wagon. You get a lot more usable space than in a similar sedan and it drives much better than SUVs

I think it's a terrible "review" if you can even call it such. Not because it's negative, which it is in spades, but because it is so self-indulgently celebratory in its negativity and self awareness. As if the writer is stomping around so as to draw attention to his own "clever" writing style than facts. That much makes this more an adolescent rant than a real objective evaluation IMO.

The fact is that this vehicle is a very targeted product designed to appeal to a very specific customer. If you're not that particular customer then chances are you won't appreciate this vehicle.

Congragulations to your mom. I haven't reviewed the E35 yet (I plan to), but most of what I've read about it and seen in pictures seems to indicate it's a nice vehicle. As I mentioned above, its interior IMO beats that of some more expensive Infiniti products.

I agree. I review vehicles myself, and generally don't like to criticize others who do so, but, like you, I have to honestly admit that Farago's writing style did not impress me either.

Thanks, I was at Lenox a couple weeks ago, didn't see it. Love the Sony store there.

I don't agree with MMarshall on anything but he is usually straight forward on his car reviews. I usually agree with what he says on his reviews.

No, I'm not just straight forward.....I test the cornering, too, on sharp curves.

And cars, of course, are something that transcends politics. Democrats and Republicans alike, Bush-lovers and Bush-haters......both can, and do, enjoy driving.

BMW X6. 'Nuff said.
Both will still sell, but as to why anyone wants one is beyond me.

They gave the new Toyota LandCruiser a similarly scalding review.

I really do love their reviews though. You just have to know how to take them. Realize that any faults a car has are going to be exposed and probably exaggerated for the sake of entertaining writing. But at least they'll talk about t a car's faults. When I read a Motor Trend article I feel like the writers are afraid to step out on a limb and say anything too specific about the car. They stick to talking about how each car performance in the basic main categories and measurements and leave the rest to fluffy subjectives and scoring systems without much explanation behind them.
