I think the EX is perfect cute ute if you want to be different from the millions of RX roaming around.
It's not as stiff as the X3 and FX. Perfect if you don't like acura rdx or the muranos, better looking than the ugly rogue

I think I given every excuse to for it

Interesting vehicle. I would still purchase the X3 over it despite the glitter & gizmos in the EX35. Beauty is only skin deep. The BMW ride and drive, solidity, build quality is unmatched. This Ex35 vehicle is just a carbon copy.

I'd get a new Buick SUV over both.

Sorry I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. A carbon copy of what? The FX? The two of them look nothing alike, other than each having 5 doors. The X3 is the carbon copy of the X5; it's just smaller. It has also had restyling done on it every single year it has been out, if I am not mistaken. As well as other mechanical changes. To me that doesn't sound like a very solid build.

As for ride, drive, solidity, and build quality, I would hope that BMW's is unmatched, considering that it starts at $38,000 and quickly balloons from that point up. Where a fully equipped EX is right around $43,000. And the EX shares the engine that has been on Ward's 10 best list for the past 13 years.
Sorry, I'll take an Infiniti or Lexus any day of the week over a BMW.

These guys were pretty spot on to me about the 3rd gen GS, pretty much the same dissapointing impression I got from the car, although they could have used less dramatic language and trying to be clever and just gave a normal review.

I think ALL their reviews are biased, and have no merit what so ever. Junk.
They like to contradict themselves and like to bash every car they review

If you need a laugh!
I took this from the Owners manual word for word.
NO Towing with the EX!
Your vehicle was designed to be used to carry
passengers and cargo. INFINITI does not recommend
trailer towing, because it places additional
loads on your vehicle's engine, drivetrain,
steering, braking, and other systems.

TTAC is a great site.

They called the Subie nose redesign something like a vagina.

ITS A SUV, U stands for "UTILITY" and this has none. It comes in handy. I used to hate the RX 300 until I drove it a few times and went to Home Depot with the loaner etc. The Utility then was evident.

I can't believe you are defending a SUV that can't tow.

But it's not an SUV, it's a crossover. As someone else stated, this is the station wagon for this decade.

1SickLex, you're entitled to your (strong) opinions, but just because you don't "get" the cute-ute segment doesn't mean they are worthless or don't meet others' needs.

Small, car-based SUV's do in fact meet many automotive needs. They offer all-weather security, better gas mileage and better road manners than truck-based ones, but at the cost of off-road and towing capability, which most people don't need anyway. The Subaru Outback, at the cost of some cargo room, does it even better...it is the most carlike of all.
