saw a genesis on the road yesterday here in Southern California with Michigan License plates. The car looked great, it was de-badged in the front and was being followed by a black Lexus gs450 with Michigan plates too.

^^Yes it looks really nice. I wonder why they don't create their own luxury brand like the Japanese if they want to go upmarket.

It would cost billions to do and they clearly thought about starting a new brand but the cost is staggering.

It's a whole different story than Toyota, Honda, and Nissan doing it.

They realize the risk is to great especially since their past reputation still haunts them. Maybe in 15 years but it's still too soon. They are testing the market with the new Genesis and we'll see what happens.

so they're using real brushed aluminum on the center stack.

why can't more cars use real alum rather than painted plastic.

alum sheet isn't that expensive.

The new coupe doesn't look bad at all. It seemed like only yesterday when they had one or two cars in their entire lineup.

Real aluminum gets hot in warm weather, and it also easily reflects sunlight, which can be very distracting while driving.

That coupe interior on a sunny day will be very distracting and annoying.

I hate Hundai, but hopefully this will be a wake up call for Toyota and even moreso, Lexus. This Hinduy interior is leaps and bounds better than the lousy crap Lexus has been making since the introduction of L-finesse.

We could predict these quotes before they're written.
