My Miata is the same - it has a 'card' you keep in your pocket or wallet, and I just get in and turn a '****' that like a key and start. In this way it still feels like starting a regular car (vs. just a button). A button start is also available.

Looking at how relativly poorly Azera and Veracruz are doing, I really wonder how well this will do.

Modern Hyundais are very reliable (post 2002). And if you're worried, there's that monster 10 year 100K mile warranty.

I'm thinking the same thing. They're both nice vehicles and offer a lot for the money, but neither one is setting the world on fire vs. their competition. Prices on both are creeping up, which puts them close to some tough competition. Hyundai's biggest challenge, IMO, is to convice buyers that they are becoming a more upscale brand.

My gosh, this looks incredibly good. I'd get this over any domestics out there.

Edit: Just noticed it even has the lower chrome door strips.

Top of the line version will cost under $40K... just read about this on latimes today. I think it may be a hard start making people pay $40K for a hyundai but I think it might work. They are actually delivering what consumers are looking for.

That price is still in TL-S and IS350's range but with more of everything

I honestly don't think this car is a serious threat to Lexus or any other premium make. It will be more of a threat to the near-lux competitors namely, Avalon, Maxima, Acura TL (honestly, the Hyundai looks more luxurious than even the RL) Lucerne, Lincoln MKZ or whatever they're calling it now, and just maybe the ES350. It could do real damage in that segment but encroaching on the LS460, S-Class or 7 series? Forget it.

yep

the problem is when you get into the upper 30k$ territory, people would rather buy a lexus, or even an infiniti.

let's see what the performance review is like...

Its an awesome car and design but maybe if they released this two to three years ago we would be having a different conversation. They could have also threw in a push start feature to give it an edge. Overall nice work coming from Hyundai.
