They are driven onto a boat and tied down. Obviously they can move around a bit under unusual circumstances, ie the sinking of the MV Tricolor a few years ago.
Dealers are going to mark up the M3's even more now. I wouldn't touch any M3's this year. Since when do dealers disclose anything they don't have to, someone is going to get a car that just isn't right, maybe it will never have a straight body panel gap, maybe the paint isn't a perfect match.
