The fastest speed you've ever driven your car to?

My little 323i has been up to its theoretical maximum of 158mph (where it runs out of both gearing and the power to overcome air resistance simultaneously--no need for a governor) once while I was on vacation in Canada, driving through the completely vacant countryside on a recently re-paved road. Solid as a rock too. Drives exactly the same as it does at 58mph, except with a 100x increase in wind noise. Really gotta hammer the brakes to get down to 50km/h (30mph) when you come up on a town though.
Had my 929RR up to ~130 while doing the ABC roads in Wisconsin about 6 years ago. Ironically, the same day I totaled it stopping from 15 or 20mph in downtown Milwaukee.
Also hit 150 or so in a friend's C5 once, and 115 on more than one occasion. Damn that car is fun.
In the last 5 years though, I've probably never hit the triple digits. Most of my highway driving is at 80, which depending on the limit in a particular area, is either 15 or 25 over.

141 in my old 2000 Infiniti G20. It would not go any faster than that. Was surprisingly stable for a small car. Only did it for 3 minutes early on a Sunday morning in the cornfields of southern Illinois. I was in the passenger seat of a Lotus Elan at 156 for about a miunte. That was a rush. As for the ist gen IS, I think 132 tops and the second gen, maybe 90. I need to see if the dealer can eliinate the orange ring that forms over the tach and speedometer at 78 mph, very annoying.

165. Closed circuit racetrack, called the 405.
I received a ticket a month ago, and the cop, who was interested in my car, said, "How fast have you gone in this thing? Don't worry, you won't get in trouble if you tell me..."
I didn't say a word. I just looked at him like .

120-125mph in my GS430 through traffic, racing with another dude on the freeway for ~2 miles. Not a good idea, in retrospect.
Evo can do more in a safer way, since it has much better body control than the lex, though I have not done it.
