Default NBC show on Detroit auto show was GARBAGE

Did anyone else catch this today? It was about an hour long 'infomercial' on the Detroit Auto Show. The announcers were clearly reading and had NO CLUE about automobiles whatsoever.

When it came to Lexus, they were SHOWING an IS-F while talking about the LF-A.

The guy said one car (GT-R or LF-A can't remember) did great on the Nurenburg

Oh it was awful...

When the Chicago Auto Show is going on in Feb. each year, several of the local stations do specials from McCormick Place and they are much like you described. Mainly fluff pieces.

They do that for the L.A. Auto Show also. One hour long infomercial about the newest and most talked about cars.

It's more about promoting the show, not the individual cars...

They also claimed that the IS-F cost "$41,000" or something, which apparently was substituting IS 350 pricing for the IS-F!

They showed the LF-A at the beginning and then not during the actual Lexus segment! When I saw this I was pretty miffed.

Ah, oh well...saw another segment last week on a different show and they claimed the IS-F was AWD...LOL!

Fellas...they were Nascar guys doing a car show... we're lucky we got to see anything but the pick em up trucks or the Monte Carlo.

Read some of the newspaper auto weeklies. They're even worse.

I think it would've been best to turn off the sound and just go for the pictures

I have no expectations when tv announcers "talk" about cars.
