I'd rather have a Camry SE V6 or Accord EX V6 than a 1 Series.
I don't care how fast it is or how well it drives, it looks like a late 90s Hyundai Accent that bred with a cricket, the interior is GARBAGE and its overpriced.

those 2 cars you are preferring over the 1 series are in a totally different class than the 1.

But on some level I agree that 50k for a 2 door seems a tad too much. especially when I can buy a really nice E46 M3 for that price and then some. but I wouldn't mind spending like 30-40k on a 5 door 1 series.

have you driven one? The driving pleasure you get out of the BMW is where it shines. I've driven a 5 door 1 series in Japan (130i M-Sport) and that thing is really fun to drive.

I have not driven one and I probably will not, but I also know that it's "different strokes for different folks". At the $30-$40K this thing will cost you, I'd rather have the creature comforts, size, convenience, reliability, and even luxury that a Camry or Accord offer. IMO, the 135i should top out around $30K, not start there. It's just so overpriced for what it is, no matter how well it drives.

If it is about the same size as the E46 and has a larger trunk I'm for it. My E46 trunk is really small because of the shock tower mounts. You can't even fit your golf bag in the trunk as it is not wide enough. It has to go in the back seat. My wifes pro golfer wanted an E46 but ended up with the E90 just because of the trunk size that fit her golf clubs. The 1 series really isn't that small compared to the E36 and E46 models.
