Haven't really seen any interior shots of the Genesis Coupe to determine which I like better. However, don't get me wrong. I'm not talking about the 1 Series itself here, just the interior. I'd probably buy the 335i myself because over all I think the 3 series looks better.

I would prefer the Ac controls to be at the bottom with the radio either a standard double din or at least at the top, but otherwise I like the fact that the AC and radio are all separate. Over all it sort of reminds me of my E46 interior.
I just don't like it's interior at all. It may be simple and clean but it also looks cheap and plain like they went out of their way to make it look even less appealing then the current 3 series dull plain cheapend interior. I think the E46 3 series interior is much nicer then the current 3 and new 1 series. Even the materials and switchgear in the E46 felt higher in quality which should not be the case in an older design. I like the E46 and last 5 series interiors, I thought they were perfect, they looked and felt more expensive and higher quality with just the right blend of sportiness and luxury and no i-drive crap. I think if you are paying well over 30K for a entry level luxury car it should have a much nicer interior then what this 1 series thing has. The interior looks like it belongs more on some cheap barebones 15-20K hatchback then a 40 some thousand dollar BMW. Every Acura, Infiniti, Lexus out now has a much nicer interior even the ones that cost significantly less. A TSX or bare bones IS250 put this 1 series interior to shame and they are much less expensive yet in the same basic market this car will be.

I am a car enthusiasts too and I don't judge cars or care about prestige, tier, snob appeal, etc, either and I judge cars based on the car not the brand or what tier group some people put it in or how prestigious someone thinks it is. Judging cars based on snob appeal, tier, and prestige is the complete opposite of a car enthusiast. Even so I still think when you spend alot of money for a car it should have the performance and a high quality nice interior to back up the higher price. I would certainly get a TSX, TL, IS, G35, etc over this 1 series even though they don't have the prestige of a BMW. For what this car goes for I can get a RL which is much larger, better equipted and has one of the nicest interiors I have ever been in. The 1 series interior does not even look sporty, it just looks plain and dull.

i'd take a genesis coupe over the 1 series, unless they brought over the hb...now that would be a very unique and interesting vehicle in the bimmer lineup.

You realize you are getting redundant features?

Why get Sirius and HD radio? No need for the premium Hi-fi also. No need for Active Steering.
