Anywone here drive the current Acura MDX or RDX?
Dynamically the best SUV's I've driven and being in the car business I've driven just about all of them. I have to admit that even as a Lexus guy, these two Acura's beat the Lexus SUV's hands down.
They handle much more like sports sedans/coupes then SUV's. You can actually fly around corners with total control. Never mind that their interiors are the best in the business. And they aren't huge. The MDX is the biggest I'd go if I was in the market.

I must say that I am Lexus biased, but not a Lexus enthusiast. The Rx400h handles much better than the RX300 before it. Much better. I ve never driven the RDX.

We have 2 sedans. but everytime I goto IKEA, We wish we had a truck. Or maybe a RX400h since I heard it gets like 30mpg! That'd be a great daily driver (but kinda defeats the purpose of having a SUV with it b/c it's so nice).

Does he have '07/'08? They are a world of differance from the first gen. The first gen is much more floaty with a much lower quality interior.

I wouldn't mind driving a minivan, especially if it looked like this...
I am not intimidated by SUVs. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if my lifestyle required one... example, towing a large boat etc.

True, the MDX is no gas miser. Averages about 18 mpg's but it has 300 HP with AWD so great gas mileage can't be expected. It's very fast.

That explains it. That's a 1st generation model and feels like an antique compared to the new MDX. I'd urge everyone to take a drive. I've driven
all the premium SUV's including X5, Cayenne, FX45, RX330, GX470, XC90, ect., and they all feel severely outdated and inferior compared to the new MDX. As for interiors, only Lexus are almost on par on quality while the others are jokes in comparison.
True. It actually feels like two generations newer rather than just one.

yepyep.
But if it does come with the 3.6L, it'll be pricey up here.
Most of the Legacys sold here have the 4 cylinder engine because they're priced in the same region as the Camry/Accord/Altima etc. Once you opt for the 6 cylinder version, you're into Lexus territory. (Read: Cdn$40k)

Ah yeah I've heard that. Well the N/A 2.5L is powerful enough to get this thing moving, especially if they direct inject it. My parents had an AWD Toyota Previa with a whopping 130 hp. It was tolerable.

The RX sells 100k a year b/c it hits the nail on the head. The RDX never has met sales targets. The MDX has been a hit for Acura.
