In all fairness, the Lexus SUV's have been around for a while. The LX almost qualifies as a classic it's been around so long.

Also, We can't expect true sportiness from Lexus SUV's as they are focused on luxury first and foremost. Acura, as with it's whole line, puts more focus on sports car like dynamics except maybe the RL.

As for an SUV's purpose, I think as long as it maintains utility, why not be able to take on the twisties as well. I had to dig out MDX's out of unplowed snow (10" deep) and it climbed out without hesitation. I was shocked actually.

I agree, nothing wrong with a good handling SUV. However, when the SUV is tilted way towards sport, when utlity is non-existent and when Marketing gives this impression you can drive the SUV on the Nurburgring and pass Porsche's well, it makes me want to throw up.

Lexus has done it too with ads, the RX spots at a track where the German engineers get mad....

You mean like the X5 4.8i? or 4.6si?
