L-Fine-*** ...

It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Example: "Hey! Your car has a L-Fine-*** design!!!"

I dunno...

For the most part, I like the L-Finesse design on the current Lexus models. Some could be a little more sporty, but I really like the exteriors on their cars. Not too keen on their SUVs though...

So do I, but that isn't saying a whole lot I suppose

I want to see the SC offered in both flavors (coupe and hardtop convertible), but it definitely needs a redesign. Hopefully such will come with the delivery of the 460 and I can't wait for that.

I will admit I'm not a fan of coupe versions of sedans from the aesthetic standpoint so I'd honestly rather not have them make one. I hate how the E92 looks compared to the E90, for example.

Good riddance! I think the current Lexus lineup look terrible and cheap compared to pre L-finesse models. The only ugly pre L-finesse Lexus is the GX470, the ES/RX have been pretty good looking, and SC, IS, GS, LS and LX were simply gorgeous. Now the whole line up is just boring and soapboxy.

I thought Lexus was not going through an identity crisis. Why the change? The current IS and LS are good looking cars imo.

I personally love the direction Lexus has been going over the past few years with their L-Finesse. I'd love to see them become a less conservative company as far as their designs go. As someone previously mentioned in this thread, Audi is a prime example of that. One can exude class without being conservative. MB has been doing it for years. You'll never please everyone, but it sure looks like they know what they're doing over in Stuggart. Generations of folks keep coming back. And it ain't just the cache either.

I think L-finesse is all right, nothing spectacular. What I do like about it is
that it is not a blatant Mercedes ripoff, like some of the earlier Lexus efforts.

As far as identity goes, there are not too many cars on the road that I like
anyways. Each brand seems to have 1 or 2 nice looking cars, but nobody
seems to have nailed it across the board (a nearly impossible feat, IMHO).

Interesting, this reminds me of an unsubstantiated rumor someone mentioned hearing from Lexus sources, that L-finesse would eventually be succeeded by another form. I'd like to see confirmation from other sources first however. Is it really 'abandoned' as in giving up or rather have the goals been accomplished? The L-finesse treatment has been done to the whole sedan lineup, plus the concept vehicles for the LF-A and LF-Xh (RX); there are L-finesse 'cues' listed for the LX 570.

To do a second round of L-finesse on the GS/IS/ES/LS would be sort of 'L-finesse 2.0' but if they are doing evolutionary, not revolutionary, they can be like Mercedes or Cadillac (Art & Science on the CTS) where it continues. Or they can do more. When the LS came out they called it "the ultimate expression of L-finesse" so perhaps now that a pinnacle has been reached with that design, a successor is due.

I'd really like to see the redesigned SC and RX...

I think that the IS, GS, ES and LS are each substantially better looking than the cars they replaced. Of the prior gen of all those cars, the only one I liked was the IS300.

your opinion may vary.

Typical of new corporate industrial designs, it will take several years to morph and fine tune their new "language"...I for one love L-Finesse and hope they will eventually get to the same concept design as the LF-S:
