Hasselhoff and Russo on board new "Rider"
By Nellie Andreeva
Mon Nov 19, 10:52 PM PST
David Hasselhoff is in talks to appear on NBC's "Knight Rider," reprising his role as Michael Knight from the original series. Also cast in the movie/pilot is Deanna Russo of "The Young & the Restless," who will play the female lead opposite fellow soap star Justin Bruening.
"Rider" is a sequel to the 1980s series that centers on Mike Tracer (Bruening), Michael Knight's son who never knew his dad.
Burned by his love for childhood best friend and one-time girlfriend Sarah Kamen (Russo), Mike is wasting away in Las Vegas when Sarah reappears and is willing to pay off Mike's gambling debt in exchange for help.
Sarah is the brilliant estranged daughter of KITT inventor Charles Kamen, who works as an assistant professor in the engineering department at Stanford. When she receives word from talking-car KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) that her father is missing, she and KITT set out to find and recruit Mike.

NO,NO,NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO!!!!!! KITT as a Mustang,, is,,,,is,,, is just WRONG!!!!! I was a HUGE supporter of Knight Rider as a child. I even still have pictures from various auto shows where I got to pose with the car and even Hasselhoff himself. This was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TV show as a child; and Knight Rider 2000 was bad enough to try to kill it for me. This will murder it now. Oh well,,another childhood memory that will be killed due to poor revitalization efforts. Makes me sad to think that this is gonna happen. Deleting the Knight Rider theme song off of my list of ring tones on my phone (seriously).
Quote by SDLEXUS--I agree but there isn't any word that Pontiac will be bringing the Firebird name back. The Camaro is already slated to be in the Transformers movie.

On a different note,, Pontiac may not be bringing back the old screaming Phoenix, but Burt Reynolds and Year One are teaming up to bring back a limited version. Check out their specks under BanII and Ban III. Pretty impressive performance numbers.
