I must say, I like the IS-F and CTS-V better than these two. Seems that the IS-F is more like the M3 in being a track car, and the CTS-V is a lot like the Merc with big power. It could handle well though...who knows?
Since when has drifting become a standard in comparison testing?? This is the third time I have seen this in tests. Why would I care if a car can drift better than the other?? Am I going to gain cool points?
Anyway outside of the drift king test, pretty much expected results. BMW the track car, the MB the horsepower king. Cant really say one is better than the other, just suited for different buyers.
Hehe, there are going to be a lot of bitter comparisons between the M3 and IS-F in the nearmost future. But the fact is, they both are torqueless lightweights that can't hold a candle to the C63. That 6.2 Liter monster is just sick.

power wise, yes, the c63 is something. but on the track? i am not so sure. both 5th gear and top gear already shows that the m3 wins over the c63 on the track

It shows how balanced and controllable the car is at the limit of adhesion - some cars have a progressive slide manner and some tend to transition very abruptly from understeer into oversteer and back. You would want to know something like this if you were tracking the car. Some cars are known for good balance at the limit (240SX, AE86, etc).

amg is good on the drag, not on the track
Well, how many people actually take their cars to the track? And even if they did, how many people have the skills to take these cars to the limit? Plus for track, there are much better lighter cars than these heavy V8 pigs. Although I gotta admit, a well balanced car like the M3, with over 8,000rpm redline has got to be really awesome at the track. But on the street it wont hold a candle to the c63.
